THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JUST POWER (A Andrews) and SWEET REPEAT (A Marcus) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In a slow-run race NTINGA (R Fourie) and ACADEMIC GOLD (G van Niekerk) proved difficult to settle. b) RAISING QUINN (A Domeyer) and CALL IT FATE (L Mxothwa) were ridden forward from the 1300m to obtain a handy position as a result of the slow-paced race. c) Jockey C Bantam (REWRITE THE STARS) appeared before the Board and was advised to ensure that he maintains a reasonable pace when racing to the front of the field. d) Jockey A Marcus reported SWEET REPEAT changed stride continually in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) RAISING QUINN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised.
