THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	COSMIC CLIFFS (*N Nastili) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Permission was granted for TWILIGHT BAY (C Habib) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start.
b)	TWILIGHT BAY over raced in the early and middle stages and Jockey C Habib did not persevere with his riding from the 100m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
	When questioned, Jockey C Habib stated that this filly had pulled hard, proved difficult to settle, had tired quickly in the latter stages and he had not persevered with his riding in the latter stages as he felt there might be something amiss. Jockey C Habib was reminded of his obligation to report on any matter that might affect the performance of his mount.
The Stipendiary Board has exercised the provisions of Rule 49.7, and this filly is suspended pending a Veterinary Certificate prior to its next racing engagement. Assistant Trainer FJ Jacobs was advised. 
c)	TAKE YOUR TIME (R Fourie) raced wide on the bend and into the straight.
d)	COSMIC CLIFFS (*N Nastili) had to steady momentarily shortly before the finish line when awkwardly placed between LADY ZULTANITE (M Yeni) and SPOIL YOURSELF (C Little), which shifted out away from the crop from approximately the 100m.
	Jockey C Little appeared before the Board and was advised to take stronger corrective measures to keep his mounts on a straight course in future engagements.
e)	Jockey C Maujean reported that A MONTH OF SUNDAYS did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare.
f)	SPOIL YOURSELF, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JVA Strydom was advised. (LM)
g)	PRESERVE FOREVER, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised. (LM)
