THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PARTY GIRL (R Fourie) was stubborn loading and nervous in the stalls. b) WAR LAUNCH (MK Katjedi) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Permission was granted for CITY OF DREAMS (M Yeni) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. b) WAR LAUNCH (MK Katjedi) was assisted to the start by a lead pony. Trainer WGC Miller was charged with a contravention of Rule 4.2 read with Local Condition 5.7 in that he failed to advise the Chairman of the Stipendiary Board of his intention to use a lead pony. Trainer WGC signed an Admission of Guilt and was given a warning. c) PARTY GIRL (R Fourie) was baulked for clear running between the 350m and the 250m. d) HAPPY WIVES (K Minnie) was switched in to obtain clear running at approximately the 100m and thereafter made slight contact with WAR LAUNCH (MK Katjedi), which shifted slightly outwards shortly before the finish line. e) RAVILIOUS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JVA Strydom was advised. (LM) f) JET SET RUN, the third-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
