Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	CALL TO UNITE (C Murray) and VAPOUR TRAIL (S Veale) were reluctant to load.
b)	TENPENNY (JP van der Merwe) jumped inwards and made contact with the front gate leaving the stalls.
c)	GET IMPRESSED (L Mxothwa) was slow into stride.
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Leaving the stalls, VAPOUR TRAIL (S Veale) was bumped inward by TENPENNY (JP van der Merwe) and made contact with WE HAVE TOUCHDOWN (C Zackey). As a consequence, CHASINGTHERAINBOW (R Fourie) was crowded for room between WE HAVE TOUCHDOWN (C Zackey) and SONG TO THE MOON (M Yeni) for a number of strides shortly after the start.
b)	PINOT GRIGIO (*B Plaatjies) and GET IMPRESSED (L Mxothwa) were hanging out and shifted out in the latter stages.
c)	Jockey C Murray reported that CALL TO UNITE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d)	In view of the performance of GOLD DUST (K Steyn), which was hanging out throughout, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	Jockey G Wright was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on GOLD DUST, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer, which resulted in a change of Rider. Jockey G Wright signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1000.00.
f)	PINOT GRIGIO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer MH Maingard was advised. (SC)
