THE STARTER REPORTED: a) UMAMI (C Maujean) stumbled leaving the stalls. b) SASSY LASSIE (M Yeni) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) COOL REGGAE (P Mxoli) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SASSY LASSIE (M Yeni) over-raced early and middle stages and tired badly in the concluding stages. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) Leaving the 200m, BLOOD OF EDEN (S Khumalo) was steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed between LUCKY CHANCE (*G Samo-Burthia) and NKWENKWEZI (C Habib), which shifted in marginally away from the crop. c) In view of the performance of GLOBAL ROYALTY (*K J Lihaba), (distance 18,75 lengths, betting 33/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) NKWENKWEZI (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Naude, acting on behalf of Trainer C Binda, was advised (MduP). When questioned regarding NKWENKWEZI'S poor performance on the 20th of August, Assistant Trainer C Naude, acting on behalf of Trainer C Binda, explained that this filly had not travelled well to Kwa-Zulu Natal. JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) SASSY LASSIE fatigued; blowing post race. b) GLOBAL ROYALTY not striding out behind.
