THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MINOGUE (S Moodley) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) DANTONFROMSANDTON (K Matsunyane) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly before the finish line, MINOGUE (S Moodley) was steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed between LUCKY LAD (C Zackey), which hung out, and READY TO CHARGE (R Danielson), which rolled in. b) Shortly before the finish line, CHASING HAPPINESS (M Yeni) was carried out by ELEGANT ICE (C Maujean), which shifted out away from the crop and was straightened. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board, after viewing the patrol films, in the presence of Trainer J J van Vuuren. He was satisfied that this incident had not affected the result of this race and therefore took no further action. c) In view of the performance of DANTONFROMSANDTON (K Matsunyane), (distance 11,00 lengths, betting 20/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with LUCKY LAD in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) ELEGANT ICE (C Maujean), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Houdalakis advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) MINOGUE: Jockey S Moodley weighed out at 53,1kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) DANTONFROMSANDTON examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) LUCKY LAD mild post race distress. c) ELEGANT ICE abnormal respiratory noise.
