Race 3: TAB TELEBET 0861 000 822 FM 66 HANDICAP (F & M) (For Fillies and Mares)

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	JUST ONE KISS (R Fourie) was nervous in the stalls.
b)	DANCING IN WINTER (G Wright) rushed the front gates of the starting stalls and jumped slow, losing one length.
c)	PENNY'S WORLD (S Khumalo) jumped outwards. 
d)	ICE CAP (C Zackey) was slow into stride.	 

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (13h03)
b)	Permission was granted for BENEATH THE MOON (MK Katjedi) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start and KILMONIVAIG (C Maujean) to follow immediately behind.
c)	Shortly after the start, PENNY'S WORLD (S Khumalo), which jumped outwards, made contact with ICE CAP (C Zackey) which, as a consequence, became unbalanced for a number of strides. Simultaneously, FULL OF MAGIC (M Yeni) jumped inwards, which resulted in JAPANESE GARDEN (M van Rensburg) being cramped between ICE CAP (C Zackey) and FULL OF MAGIC (M Yeni).
d)	FARAWAY GIRL (L Mxothwa) was hanging in from the 400m.
e)	Jockey R Ramzan (STROOPSOET) dropped his crop at the 250m.
f)	FULL OF MAGIC (M Yeni) was hanging in throughout.
g)	In view of the performance of FULL OF MAGIC (M Yeni) (Betting 5/1; Distance 10.40 lengths), which was not persevered with from the 200m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare.
	Jockey M Yeni was questioned with regard to his riding of FULL OF MAGIC in the latter stages. He explained to the Board that this mare was hanging in badly. As a consequence, he did not persevere with his riding over the final 150m as this mare was difficult to control and felt uneven beneath him.  The Board drew Jockey M Yeni's attention to the Rules pertaining to reporting any circumstances which would affect the running of the race. He was further advised that should he not make concise reports in future engagements, disciplinary measures will be taken. 
The Stipendiary Board has exercised the provisions of Rule 49.7, and this mare is suspended pending a Veterinary Certificate prior to its next racing engagement. Trainer K Mitchley advised. 
	Trainer K Mitchley was advised to report back should she find anything amiss with this mare on her return to the stables. 
h)	JUST ONE KISS (R Fourie) shied away from a patch at the 50m.
i)	In view of the performance of ICE CAP (C Zackey) (Betting 4/1; Distance 6.40 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare.
j)	Apprentice B Soodoo (CANFORD QUEEN) rode a satisfactory qualifying ride.
k)	BENEATH THE MOON, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer TJ Laing was advised. (LM)
l)	FARAWAY GIRL, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L Mxothwa was advised. (LM)
