THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GERBERA (C Zackey) and BEYNAC (R Danielson) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) DANCE KING (R A Venniker) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 1400m, COCOMELON (*G Samo-Burthia), which commenced to over-race, was steadied to avoid running onto the heels of GERBERA (C Zackey). b) Leaving the 300m, SOLAR SAIL (J Penny) was carried in marginally by COUNT HUHTIKUU (C Murray), which shifted in sharply away from the crop and was immediately corrected. c) GERBERA (C Zackey) hung out in the concluding stages. d) Jockey K Matsunyane reported that he felt something amiss with PHIL THE FLUTER in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) COUNT HUHTIKUU (C Murray), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer T Woodruff, acting on behalf of Trainer J Crawford, was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None.
