Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SEAFARER ( M Yeni), RUBY'S FORTRESS (*V Jodhee) and FUTURE CITIZEN (JP van der Merwe) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter were slow into stride. b) LE TURBO (L Mxothwa) jumped awkwardly. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) On arriving at the start, the Veterinary Surgeon noticed a small abrasion on the right front leg of FUTURE CITIZEN (JP van der Merwe). This colt was examined and passed suitable to race. b) At the 1200m DIOGENES (C Murray) was momentarily inconvenienced on the inside of SET TO MUSIC (A Fortune), which commenced to over race and shifted in slightly. c) Jockey A Fortune was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of SET TO MUSIC he misused his crop by striking SET TO MUSIC more than 12 times (15) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey A Fortune signed an admission of guilt and was fined R7500,00. d) SET TO MUSIC, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer MH Maingard was advised. (TJ) e) GREENCHOICE, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. (TJ) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) L Mxothwa (LE TURBO) rode +0.5kg (57.9kgs) RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER a) Nil THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) RUBY'S FORTRESS - examined post-race.
