Stipes Report
During the loading process REIK NA DIE STERRE (J Jacobs) became restless in the stalls. This filly was released from the stalls, checked by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race. REIK NA DIE STERRE (J Jacobs) was resaddled and loaded into the starting stalls. This caused a delay to the start of this race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process REIK NA DIE STERRE (J Jacobs) threw its head down in the stalls. This filly was released from the stalls, resaddled, checked by the Veterinary Surgeon and reloaded. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 250m LOVE THE USA (C Zackey) was steadied and directed in away from the heels of BALTIC ASSAYER (*D D Louw) which hung out between the 500m and the 150m and shifted out. Apprentice D D Louw (BALTIC ASSAYER) appeared before the Board accompanied by Riding Master N Roebuck with regard to this incident and was advised to exercise more care. b) Jockey A Mgudlwa reported that CAPRICIOUS MISS took no interest in the running, The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) FUTANO (R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M L Roberts was advised (SP). Trainer M L Roberts was questioned regarding the improved performance of FUTANO as compared to this filly's previous performance on the 10 August 2025 over 1750m. Mr Roberts is of the opinion that the improvement shown today was due to this filly being better suited to today's distance of 1400m. Trainer Roberts further undertook to race FUTANO over similar distances in future. JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) CAPRICIOUS MISS : In season. b) FUTANO : Cut into right front. c) ADA LOVELACE : Returned post-race having lifted the right front shoe.
