THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start for all runners. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 150m, FAUSTINO (*K BREWER), which was hanging in in the straight, was steadied outwards away from TEMPTING FATE (S Veale) which had shifted out away from the crop. Jockey S Veale appeared before the Board with regard to the above incident and was advised to correct his horses when they shift ground in races in future. b) Apprentice G Pieterse reported that CHANTYMAN made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Jockey R Khathi reported that FILIPPO showed signs of post-race distress. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) In view of the performance of PEARL OF ASIA (S Moodley) (9.10 lengths, betting 10/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) GOOD TRAVELLER (D Dillon), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer J Buckler acting for Trainer G Kotzen was advised (DZ).
