THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LYRICS AND SONGS (E Webber) refused to load and was withdrawn. b) ELUSIVE BOMBA (*G Dookhit) was stubborn loading. c) TRILLION DREAMS (MK Katjedi) was stubborn loading and slow into stride. d) ROYAL MERMAID (C Zackey) was nervous in the stalls. e) CAUGHTUBYSURPRISE (X Ndlovu) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (12h39) b) Permission was granted for GENOVEFA (L Mxothwa) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) LYRICS AND SONGS (E Webber) failed to parade and proceeded directly to the start. Trainer WGC Miller was advised that should this filly refuse to parade in future engagements, she may be suspended. d) The start of this race was delayed due to a technical issue in the boardroom which was reported to the Racing Operator. e) Shortly after the start, ELUSIVE BOMBA (*G Dookhit) and OCEAN FLAME (M van Rensburg) came together and bumped. f) TRILLION DREAMS (MK Katjedi) raced wide on the turn and into the straight. Thereafter, Jockey MK Katjedi reported that TRILLION DREAMS did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. g) In view of the report from the Starter regarding LYRICS AND SONGS (E Webber), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 27/09/2025 to 03/10/2025 inclusive) LYRICS AND SONGS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. h) Jockey M van Rensburg was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of OCEAN FLAME he misused his crop by striking OCEAN FLAME more than 12 times (15) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey M van Rensburg signed an admission of guilt and was fined R7500,00. i) GENOVEFA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised.
