THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SPEED RACER (C Zackey) jumped awkwardly. b) LARIUS LACUS (*N Nastili) jumped outwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) HAIR TRIGGER recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Trainer AC Greeff was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level. b) Shortly after the start LARIUS LACUS (*N Nastili) was bumped in by SILVA CITY (R Fourie), which jumped awkwardly inwards. c) SILVA CITY (R Fourie) was hanging in from the 300m to the 150m. Thereafter, Jockey R Fourie reported that SILVA CITY did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) LARIUS LACUS (*N Nastili) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr J de Villiers) e) HAIR TRIGGER, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
