THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BIG BOY BRUCE (E Webber) refused to load and was withdrawn, causing a delay. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h53) b) Permission was granted for IGUGULETHU (L Mxothwa) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) IGUGULETHU (L Mxothwa) and COASTAL PATH (R Fourie) over raced in the early and middle stages. d) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with READY and he did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. The Stipendiary Board has exercised the provisions of Rule 49.7, and this gelding is suspended pending a Veterinary Certificate prior to its next racing engagement. Assistant Trainer DG Smith was advised. Assistant Trainer DG Smith was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. e) Jockey M van Rensburg reported that HAT TRICK OR TREAT did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
