Stipes Report
The start of this Race was delayed due to the reasons stated below in the Starter's Report. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) QHUDE MANIKINIKI (A Mgudlwa) was stubborn to load. Trainer W Masawi was advised to re-school this gelding. b) CAPTAIN'S DYNASTY (S Sosibo) was stubborn to load. Restless in the stalls and thereafter lost one length. c) GREATEST HIT (S Veale) lost one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) CAPTAIN'S DYNASTY (S Sosibo) jumped outwards leaving the starting stalls. b) Approaching the 1000m QHUDE MANIKINIKI (A Mgudlwa) which raced green, shifted in and clipped the heels of GREATEST HIT (S Veale). c) SKIPPER ZIP (T Godden) which raced green, shifted both ways from the crop. d) In view of the performance of OXFORD ROAD (S Moodley) (25.30 lengths, 66/1 in the betting), which was not persevered with in the concluding stages, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Trainer L F Robinson was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate OXFORD ROAD against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccination as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Mr Robinson signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1000. f) ASCALON DANCER (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) was advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) OXFORD ROAD : Coughing and not striding out. b) GREATEST HIT : Speedy cut left hind. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS : DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) None.
