Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DANIEL (JP van der Merwe), GOOD SHINE (*B Plaatjies) and GREEN COMMANDER (S Veale) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BLUE STEEL (S Moodley) and DANIEL (JP van der Merwe) pulled hard in the early and middle stages. b) At the 300m FROM THE HIP (J Solomons) was carried inward by GREEN COMMANDER (S Veale), which was hanging in in the straight and then had to be steadied briefly when close to the heels of INQUISITOR (A Mgudlwa), which rolled out slightly. c) Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that DANIEL choked up in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) In view of the performance of GREEN COMMANDER (S Veale), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) DELTA PRIDE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
