THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO ITSNOWORNEVER (+G DADAMASI) AND SCOTT'S GUARD (+V SITHETHO) PROVING RELUCTANT TO PROCEED TO THE START AND HAVING TO BE LED, AS WELL AS THE LATE ARRIVAL OF EQUILATERAL (+T DEMONT) AT THE START. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROCK MY BOAT (+T Matsoele) reared in the stalls. b) EQUILATERAL (+T Demont) jumped outwards leaving the stalls, making contact with the left-side front gate. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) ITSNOWORNEVER (+G Dadamasi) and SCOTT'S GUARD (+V Sithetho) proved reluctant to canter to the start and had to be led. Trainer J Borman was advised that should these geldings behave in a similar manner in future, they may be suspended. b) Work Rider T Demont (EQUILATERAL) appeared before the Board and was advised to make more of an effort to get his mount to the start timeously. c) MRS WONDERFUL (+P Mlangeni) hung out from the 600m. Thereafter, Work Rider P Mlangeni dropped his crop shortly before the finish line. d) Work Rider V Sithetho reported that SCOTT'S GUARD did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) BELLEROPHON (+S Mosia), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F P Habib advised (MS). WORK RIDER CHANGES: a) ITSNOWORNEVER was ridden by Work Rider G Dadamasi (declared 30 September 2025 at 12H15). To be investigated. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) SCOTT'S GUARD raced equipped with pacifiers (declared 28 September 2025 at 09H02). b) ITSNOWORNEVER raced with a tongue tie on (declared 28 September 2025 at 09H03). c) BELLEROPHON raced equipped with cheek pieces (declared 29 September 2025 at 09H32).
