THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	EL CAPITAN (M van Rensburg) made contact with the right-side gate leaving the stalls.
b)	JUST ONE KISS (R Fourie) jumped awkwardly.
c)	GLOBAL DRUMBEAT (W Agrella) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	GLOBAL DRUMBEAT recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Trainer K Mitchley was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level.
b)	Permission was granted for GLOBAL DRUMBEAT (W Agrella) and EL CAPITAN (M van Rensburg) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. 
c)	JUST ONE KISS (R Fourie) faltered shortly after the start.
d)	Shortly after the start, TOWER OF LONDON (C Little) was buffeted for a number of strides between HONORABLE MEMBER (L Mxothwa), which jumped awkwardly outwards and GLOBAL STATE (C Habib). 
e)	GLOBAL DRUMBEAT (W Agrella) was hanging in from the 400m.
f)	ALWAYS SHINING (C Zackey) was hanging in between the 400m and the 100m.
g)	Jockey L Mxothwa was charged with a contravention of Rule 66.4 (read with Guideline 1 on overweight) in that he, as the rider of HONORABLE MEMBER, weighed back in at more than 1kg above the weight at which he was declared out. Jockey L Mxothwa signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 000.00.
