THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GREY WARRIOR (R Fourie) was nervous in the stalls. b) MONT TREMBLANT (W Agrella) was nervous in the stalls, fly-jumped leaving the stalls and thereafter, was slow into stride. c) LADY PENNY (*B Soodoo) jumped slow, losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MONT TREMBLANT recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Trainer K Mitchley was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level. b) GREY WARRIOR recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Trainer AC Greeff was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level. c) Permission was granted for SEMPRE BELLA (L Mxothwa) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. d) MONT TREMBLANT (W Agrella), which jumped awkwardly, shifted out sharply shortly after the start and thereafter, over raced in the early and middle stages. e) Jockey L Mxothwa reported that he felt something amiss with SEMPRE BELLA and did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. SEMPRE BELLA (L Mxothwa) returned with a unilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr J de Villiers) f) DARLING GIRL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JVA Strydom was advised.
