Stipes Report
DURING THE LOADING PROCESS, JOCKEY S MOODLEY WAS DISLODGED FROM IN THE WILLOWS, WHICH BECAME RESTLESS, BREAKING THROUGH THE FRONT GATES AND BOLTING THE COURSE. IN THE WILLOWS WAS TAKEN IN HAND, EXAMINED BY THE COURSE VETERINARY SURGEON AND SUBSEQUENTLY SCRATCHED. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, IN THE WILLOWS (S Moodley) broke through the front gates. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Stable Employee P de Palma, acting on behalf of Trainer S J Gray, was advised (GT). b) GOLD PLATINA (J R Syster) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) WINTER BELLE (*G Samo-Burthia) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, GOLD PLATINA (J R Syster) and PIVOTAL ROLE (M Yeni) came together and brushed. b) ROCK MUSIC (C Habib) shifted out sharply away from the crop at the 150m. c) WINTER BELLE (*G Samo-Burthia) was baulked for a clear run from the 300m to the 100m. d) RINGHO (P Mxoli) hung in in the concluding stages. e) Jockey C Zackey reported that BINGO did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) In view of the Starter's report with regard to IN THE WILLOWS, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn, and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 3 October 2025 to 9 October 2025. IN THE WILLOWS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Stable Employee P de Palma, acting on behalf of Trainer S J Gray, was advised. g) PIVOTAL ROLE (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (AH). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) IN THE WILLOWS was carded to race equipped with blinkers (declared 25 September 2025 at 13H22). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) BINGO not striding out left hind. b) PIVOTAL ROLE abnormal respiratory noise. c) WINTER BELLE fatigued. SCRATCHED: a) DISTRICT ATTORNEY coughing (Trainer) (Rule 53.5 applies). b) IN THE WILLOWS bolted the course - immediate reinstatement (NHA / 13H23) Betting 100/1. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
