THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE NOSE BAND ON LUCKY LAD (R FOURIE) HAVING TO BE ADJUSTED. 

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	QUANTUM THEORY (L Mxothwa) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.	
b)	BUSSTOPINHOUNSLOW (R A Venniker) was slow into stride.	
         
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	At approximately the 1100m, NYAKA NYAKA (L Nhlapo), which commenced to over-race, was steadied to avoid running onto the heels of CHOISAANADA (C Murray).
b)	At approximately the 800m, NYAKA NYAKA (L Nhlapo) and ROYAL FORCE (M van Rensburg) were carried out by TIN PAN ALLEY (M K Katjedi), which shifted out sharply for no apparent reason. 
c)	GREETING MY MASTER (K A Brewer) tired badly in the concluding stages. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
d)	Jockey M van Rensburg (ROYAL FORCE) did not persevere with his riding in the concluding stages. Thereafter, Jockey M van Rensburg reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.	
e)	In view of the performance of QUANTUM THEORY (L Mxothwa), (distance 8,75 lengths, betting 7/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
f)	Jockey R Fourie reported that LUCKY LAD made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
g)	In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning ROYAL FORCE, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 120 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Stable Employee N Houdalakis, acting on behalf of Trainer M N Houdalakis, was advised. 	
h)	TIN PAN ALLEY (M K Katjedi), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
