Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LIFE GOES ON (*G Samo-Burthia) was stubborn loading. b) BARNEY MCGREW (D Ashby) jumped awkwardly. c) ALL ABOUT AL (C Bantam) stood awkwardly in the stalls and jumped inwards, which resulted in the skull cap of Jockey C Bantam making heavy contact with the left side front gate. d) FLYING FINLEY (C Little) took an awkward stride leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The Stewards reviewed the start with regard to ALL ABOUT AL (C Bantam) in stall gate 3 and established that the gelding had jumped inwards, which resulted in Jockey C Bantam's skull cap making heavy contact with the left side front gate. The Stewards were satisfied that this gelding had not been impeded and considering ALL ABOUT AL's finishing position, took no further action. Jockey C Bantam's skull cap was examined by a Stipendiary Steward and will be re-examined prior to him using this equipment in a race. b) Shortly after the start GIMMEATHRILL (L Mxothwa) shifted outwards away from FLYING FINLEY (C Little) and made contact with SARDINIA BAY (C Orffer). c) BARNEY MCGREW (D Ashby) was hanging out on the turn. d) SARDINIA BAY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GW Ennion was advised.
