THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PEACECRUIZER (*B Marx-Jacobson) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) As the start was effected SMART STAR (S Moodley) was bumped by BOMBARDIER BOY (C Murray) which jumped outwards leaving the starting stalls. b) Leaving the 200m RAGING MOON (*D D Louw) was brushed on two occasions by SMART STAR (S Moodley) which hung in throughout. c) In the concluding stages CAPRICIOUS MISS (A Mgudlwa) was brushed by BOMBARDIER BOY (C Murray) which had come to the end of its run and was steadied when awkwardly placed on the inside of AUSTRIAN BEAUTY (K Matsunyane) which shifted in away from the crop. Jockey K Matsunyane appeared before the Board and was advised to keep his mounts on a straight course in future. d) In view of the performance of SMART STAR (*D D Louw) (20.30 lengths, 20/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) CAPRICIOUS MISS (A Mgudlwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Wright was advised (SP). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) PEACECRUIZER is a gelding (Gelded 11.12.2024) (Incorrectly carded). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) SMART STAR : Nothing obvious detected. b) PEACECRUIZER : Returned post-race having cast the left front shoe. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS : DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) None.
