THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) As the start was effected KALI BWANA (*B Marx-Jacobson) became restless and as a consequence was slow away, losing 2 lengths. b) The colour cap on Jockey J Jacobs (DEE DAY) was detached at the 600m. c) Leaving the 400m PREDATOR'S SURPRISE (R A Venniker) was steadied away from the heels of DEE DAY (J Jacobs) which was brushed out by OVATION STAR (C Murray) which shifted out sharply and was corrected. d) Leaving the 200m SECRET JOURNEY (J Gates) and KALI BWANA (*B Marx-Jacobson) which hung in from the 300m, came together and brushed. e) OVATION STAR (C Murray), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
