Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED A) EKORIA was nervous in the stalls. B) QUELEA and RACINANTE were slow into stride. C) FORTUNE BEAST was stubborn loading, nervous in the stalls and slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) At the 600m, QUELEA (G Cheyne) faltered badly and was immediately eased out of the race. The filly was attended to on the course by the Course Veterinary Surgeon. As a result, Jockey G Cheyne was unable to weigh in timeously. The Stewards acting in terms of Rule 66.2, were satisfied that this filly had carried the correct weight. B) The winner EKORIA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis, Trainer G D Smith advised (LM). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES A) FORBIDDEN BEAST raced equipped with a tongue tie (09:56 - 14/04/2022). THERE WERE NO RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED A) QUELEA broke down right hind femur fracture (humanly euthanised). Specimens were collected for analysis, Trainer A C Greeff was advised (KD). THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
