Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MONT LOISIR (*B Plaatjies), which was stubborn loading and had to be hooded, threw its head down as the start was effected, losing three lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After being slow to begin, Apprentice B Plaatjies made limited attempt to encourage MONT LOISIR forward to make up the deficit lost at the start. Thereafter, MONT LOISIR (*B Plaatjies) finished tailed off. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine MONT LOISIR. After appearing before the Board and in the presence of the Academy Riding Master, Apprentice B Plaatjies was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that he failed to ride MONT LOISIR out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards. Apprentice B Plaatjies signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R2500.00. b) At the 500m WINTER PEARL (O Noach) was steadied briefly and directed inwards when close to the heels of CARRIACOU (C Murray), which was hanging out and shifted out slightly. c) In view of the report from the Starter regarding MONT LOISIR (*B Plaatjies), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 09/10/2025 to 15/10/2025 inclusive) MONT LOISIR may not be presented for re-passing during this period. d) VIVA'S LIBERTE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
