THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HOKUSAI (E Webber) was nervous and reared in the stalls. b) IZANAMI (X Ndlovu) jumped slow, losing one length. c) HOLLANDIA BAKKERIJ (C Little) and KLEIN JAN (MK Katjedi) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (11h59) b) Apprentice B Soodoo rode a satisfactory qualifying ride. c) HOLLANDIA BAKKERIJ (C Little) was hanging in between the 400m and the 150m. d) Apprentice N Nastili reported that SALAGADOOLA took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) Jockey E Webber reported that he felt something amiss with HOKUSAI. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. HOKUSAI (E Webber) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr J de Villiers) f) WAROFDYNAMITE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised.
