THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Ponte Pietra (G Behr) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Ponte Pietra (G Behr) refused to parade in front of the grandstand and proceeded directly to the start. Trainer H Brown was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future engagements, he may be suspended. b) In view of the performance of Ponte Pietra (G Behr), which pulled hard in the early stages and tired quickly in the latter stages, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) MAGIC VERSE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. (SC) d) TIME FOR LOVE, the third-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Rix was advised.
