THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	GREENCHOICE (A Domeyer) jumped slow, losing two lengths and was slow into stride.
b)	RUBY'S FORTRESS (*S Bungane) jumped awkwardly outwards and thereafter was slow into stride.
c)	BLUE STEEL (S Moodley) jumped outwards. 

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	After being dislodged in Race 4, Jockey A Domeyer was examined by the Medical Officer and passed fit to continue riding.
b)	GALE WARNING (C Little) proved difficult and failed to parade in front of the grandstand. Trainer GS Kotzen was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future engagements, he may be suspended. 
c)	In view of the performance of KEY BOARD (K Steyn), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
d)	SMARTEN UP, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. (TJ)
