Stipes Report
The start of this race was delayed due to the reason stated in the Starter's report below. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SHEEZAROCKET (R A Venniker) was difficult to load. Trainer D I Campbell will be advised to reschool this filly. b) ANNIE'S SONG (S Veale) was slow into stride. c) LEMON THYME (S Moodley) jumped awkwardly losing 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DM) : a) AURELIAN (C Zackey) and ANNIE'S SONG (S Veale) over-raced in the early and middle stages. b) Leaving the 400m the colour cap on Jockey C Little (BALTIC ASSAYER) was detached. c) MS GALORE (K Matsunyane) and ANNIE'S SONG (S Veale) hung in from the 200m. d) Jockey A Mgudlwa was charged with a contravention of contravened Rule 58.10.2., Appendix E, (Guideline 3) in that he mis-used his crop by striking LIWA'S FLIGHT forward of the saddle at the 1000m. Jockey A Mgudlwa signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1000. e) COOL WIND (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P V Lafferty was advised (SP).
