THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BELLA VALENTINA (C Zackey) lost 1 length. b) BLUE POPPY (C Habib) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) Shortly after the start MRS STORMIATRIX (A Mgudlwa), ROY'S BLOSSOM (T Godden), AMERICAN GEM (D Daniels), BELLA VALENTINA (C Zackey) and BLUE POPPY (C Habib) were all carried out on the outside of OLIVE GROVE (K Matsunyane) which jumped out leaving the starting stalls. b) Shortly after entering the straight ROY'S BLOSSOM (T Godden) was briefly baulked and thereafter was switched to the inside of AMERICAN GEM (D Daniels) to continue its run. c) RUN FOR PEACE (M Thackeray) hung in from the 250m. d) Jockey A Mgudlwa reported that MRS STORMIATRIX took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) BELLA VALENTINA (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
