THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	THE PLAYBOY BOMBER (KA Brewer) jumped slow, losing one length. 
b)	DIESEL'S SHADOW (JR Syster) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Jockey MK Katjedi reported that JULIET TANGO did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare.
b)	In view of the performance of JURY'S OUT (*T Mayhew), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
	Apprentice T Mayhew was questioned in the presence of the National Riding Master with regard to his ride on JURY'S OUT, with particular reference to his riding of this gelding in the early stages. Apprentice Mayhew explained to the Board that from a wide draw, he had elected to drop this gelding out. However, in an attempt to obtain a rail's run, he had to ease his mount to avoid the heels of runners in front of him, which had resulted in him losing momentum and ground to the field and sitting further back than he had anticipated. He then stated that he had begun to ride JURY'S OUT from approximately the 800m in an attempt to make up ground on the field and from the 400m, this gelding had commenced to hang in.
	Apprentice T Mayhew's explanation was noted. 
c)	COPPOLA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Khan was advised. (MS)
