Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BLUE PALACE (L Mxothwa) was nervous in the stalls and fly-jumped leaving the stalls, losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (13h09) b) Permission was granted for GENTEEL (M Yeni) and TWILIGHT BAY (C Habib) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. c) HOERIKWAGGO (R Fourie), GREENLIGHT DANCER (W Agrella) and CHRONICLESOFNANIA (*N Nastili) over raced in the early and middle stages. d) KAMAKAZI was hanging in between the 600m and the 200m and Apprentice B Soodoo did not persevere with his riding in the latter stages. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. Trainer JVA Strydom was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this mare on her return to the stables. Apprentice B Soodoo was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that he failed to ride KAMAKAZI out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards. Apprentice B Soodoo signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000.00. e) HOERIKWAGGO (R Fourie) was hanging in from the 400m, was corrected and thereafter shifted both ways away from the crop form the 100m. f) TWILIGHT BAY (C Habib) shifted both ways away from the crop from the 200m. g) In view of the performance of GENTEEL (M Yeni), which raced awkwardly and was not persevered with in the latter stages, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer K Mitchley was advised to report back should she find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. The Stipendiary Board has exercised the provisions of Rule 49.7, and this filly is suspended pending a Veterinary Certificate prior to its next racing engagement. Trainer K Mitchley will be advised. Jockey M Yeni was charged with a contravention of Rule 70.1.2 in that he failed to report to the Stipendiary Board any incident which might have affected the running of GENTEEL. Jockey M Yeni signed an Admission of Guilt and was given a warning. h) HOERIKWAGGO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
