Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	DIGBY (G Behr), MOODY BLUE (K Steyn) and SIMBINE (S Veale) were restless in the stalls. 
b)	MR MOUSTACHE (C Orffer) was restless in the stalls and fly-jumped leaving the stalls, losing one length.
c)	STRAIGHT RED (*B Plaatjies) jumped slow, losing two lengths.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	MOODY BLUE (K Steyn) raced awkwardly on the turn. 
b)	SLASH 'N BURN (IRE) (R Fourie) raced green.
c)	At the 250m DIGBY (G Behr) was carried inwards by WILLIAM'S WOMAN (*S Bungane), which shifted in and was straightened. Thereafter, approaching the 100m, WILLIAM'S WOMAN (*S Bungane) was carried inwards by THAT'LL B THE DAY (C Little), which shifted in. As a consequence, THAT'LL B THE DAY (C Little) and  WILLIAM'S WOMAN (*S Bungane) brushed on two occasions in the latter stages. A member of the Stipendiary Board called for a race review, which was followed by Jockey C Little calling for a race review. After viewing the patrol film, no further action was taken by either party. 
Jockey C Little appeared before the Board and was advised to take stronger measures to keep his mounts on a straight course in similar circumstances.
d)	In view of the debut performance of STRAIGHT RED (*B Plaatjies), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	WILLIAM'S WOMAN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Rix was advised. (TJ)
