THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TRIP TO PEACE (C Zackey) and ELUSIVE CHARM (J R Syster) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 1400m, THOONSIL (K Matsunyane), which commenced to over-race, was steadied to avoid running onto the heels of CUZZIE (M van Rensburg). b) Jockey J Penny (GLOBAL LOVE) did not persevere with his riding from the 600m. Thereafter, Jockey J Penny reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) TRIP TO PEACE (C Zackey) hung in from the 400m. Thereafter, Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) THOONSIL (K Matsunyane) shifted in away from the crop at the 200m. e) In view of the performance of FUTURE SUCCESS (C Murray), (distance 19,00 lengths, betting 9/2), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) TEXAS MISSILE (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
