THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SILVAN MISTRESS (K Minnie) and ROYAL CITY GIRL (M Yeni) were stubborn loading. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Permission was granted for EAST COAST GIRL (C Zackey), to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. b) All horses in this race were affected by the strong cross winds. c) NORTH STAR (X Ndlovu) and SILVA CITY (R Fourie) over raced in the early and middle stages. d) NORTH STAR (X Ndlovu) was hanging inwards from the 600m to the 350m. e) SILVAN MISTRESS (K Minnie) was hanging in between the 600m and the 400m and thereafter, Jockey K Minnie directed his mount outwards. f) Leaving the 400m SILVA CITY (R Fourie) was unbalanced when blown sharply inwards by the cross winds. Thereafter, Jockey R Fourie rode this filly outwards to avoid racing tight on the inside running rail. g) Jockeys L Mxothwa (BAROLO) and C Habib (STAR OF ELENA) reported that these fillies changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Assistant Trainer DG Smith was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with BAROLO on her return to the stables. h) SILVA CITY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
