Race 3: RACING240 MAIDEN PLATE (F & M) (For Maiden F&M)

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	SHOOTING ARROW (X Ndlovu), LYRICS AND SONGS (E Webber) and LOOKING GOOD (M van Rensburg) were stubborn loading.
b)	DESERT CLOUD (M Yeni) was nervous in the stalls.
c)	TRILLION DREAMS (MK Katjedi) was nervous in the stalls, jumped awkwardly and thereafter, was slow into stride.
d)	WELSH STARLET (C Orffer) was slow into stride. 

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	LANA VIEW recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Trainer L Gila was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level.
b)	Permission was granted for LOOKING GOOD (M van Rensburg) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. 
c)	SHOOTING ARROW (X Ndlovu) was carried outwards by LANA VIEW (Y Ramzan), which in turn carried CELTIQUE (L Mxothwa) slightly outwards. Thereafter, CELTIQUE (L Mxothwa) clipped the heels of AM STILL WINNING (*G Dookhit), which shifted inwards shortly after the start. 
Apprentice G Dookhit was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of AM STILL WINNING, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to CELTIQUE when he shifted in shortly after the start. Apprentice G Dookhit signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates: 08/11/2025 to 14/11/2025, both dates inclusive)
Jockey Y Ramzan (LANA VIEW) appeared before the Board and was advised to take stronger measures to keep his mounts on a straight course in future.
d)	At approximately the 700m TRILLION DREAMS (MK Katjedi) was carried outwards by WELSH STARLET (C Orffer), which was ridden outwards. 
e)	AM STILL WINNING (*G Dookhit), WELSH STARLET (C Orffer), HEAVENLY MAFIA (C Little), LOTUS SILK (R Fourie) and LYRICS AND SONGS (E Webber) shifted ground between the 400m and the 200m as a result of the strong cross winds. 
f)	Jockey E Webber did not persevere with his riding of LYRICS AND SONGS from the 100m and thereafter reported that the felt something amiss with this filly. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
g)	DESERT CLOUD (M Yeni) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr J de Villiers)
h)	Jockey Y Ramzan was charged with a contravention of Rule 56.2.6 in that he smoked in the jockeys' quarters. Jockey Y Ramzan signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1 000,00.
i)	In view of the report from the Starter regarding LYRICS AND SONGS (E Webber), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 01/11/2025 to 07/11/2025 inclusive) LYRICS AND SONGS may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
j)	LOTUS SILK, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (LM)
