THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROCK OF FUTURA (C Habib) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) STRANGE MAGIC (L Mxothwa), FLASH LIGHTNING (*N Nastili) and GOLDEN ANGEL (C Little) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (15h58) b) The start of this race was delayed as a result of a number of late saddle checks on arrival at the start. c) CANFORD QUEEN (*G Dookhit) was bumped when ROCK OF FUTURA (C Habib) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. d) TOWER OF LONDON (MK Katjedi) shifted inwards and made heavy contact with GOLDEN GREY (R Fourie) shortly after the start. Thereafter, TOWER OF LONDON (MK Katjedi) over raced in the early and middle stages. e) TOWER OF LONDON (MK Katjedi) was carried outwards by FLASH LIGHTNING (*N Nastili) between the 400m and the 250m. f) In view of the performance of GOLDEN GREY (R Fourie), which shifted both ways away from the crop from the 300m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. g) SUN SPECTACULAR (M Yeni) shifted inwards from the 250m and thereafter commenced to hang out from the 100m. h) GOLDEN ANGEL (C Little) shifted both ways away from the crop from the 200m. i) Jockey L Mxothwa reported that STRANGE MAGIC did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. j) GOLDEN ANGEL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
