DURING THE LOADING PROCESS, ICE DRAGON BROKE THROUGH THE FRONT GATES, WAS RESTRAINED BY JOCKEY P MXOLI, RETURNED TO THE START, EXAMINED BY THE VETERINARY SURGEON, PASSED FIT TO RACE AND RELOADED. THIS CAUSED A FURTHER DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, VIBE SA (S KHUMALO) kicked the back gate, resulting in ICE DRAGON (P Mxoli) becoming restless and breaking through the front gates. Assistant Trainer M Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer A P Peter, was advised to reschool VIBE SA (S KHUMALO) prior to his next engagement (GT). b) SECRET CHORD (C Zackey) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) ROMILLY (G Lerena) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) This race was run in heavy rain, which resulted in the Jockeys returning on average 1,5kg overweight. b) Leaving the 250m, ANTONIO GAUDI (K Matsunyane) was brushed in by DRIVELIKEAMASTER (*T Mayhew), which rolled in. c) In view of the performance of ICE DRAGON (P Mxoli), (distance 14,00 lengths, betting 6/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey C Habib reported that PALACE REVOLT made an abnormal respiratory noise and did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) SECRET CHORD (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
