Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ICONIC WINTER (C Zackey) was unruly behind the stalls and stubborn loading, causing a delay. b) HOLLY'S KISS (R Fourie), KITTEN TATTOO (MK Katjedi), FIVE STAR MAGIC (M Yeni) and THROW A PARTY (*N Nastili) were stubborn loading, causing a further delay. c) ENGELANDPARK (E Webber) was nervous in the stalls. d) OCEAN FLAME (M van Rensburg) fly-jumped leaving the stalls, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (11h57) b) Permission was granted for ICONIC WINTER (C Zackey) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. ICONIC WINTER refused to parade. Thereafter, Jockey C Zackey dismounted and led this filly to the start. Trainer Dean Smith was advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future engagements, she may be suspended. c) ENGELANDPARK shifted inwards sharply at the 300m, was restrained by Jockey E Webber, brushed the inside running rail and thereafter this filly continued to hang inwards. d) OCEAN FLAME (M van Rensburg) and PRICELESS TREASURE (S Naidoo) were hanging inwards from the 200m. e) Jockey R Fourie reported that he felt something amiss with HOLLY'S KISS. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer AC Greeff was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. f) Jockey M Yeni reported that FIVE STAR MAGIC made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. Assistant Trainer C Kaknis was advised to report back should she find anything amiss with this mare on her return to the stables. g) Apprentice N Nastili reported that THROW A PARTY did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. h) In view of the report from the Starter regarding ICONIC WINTER (C Zackey), HOLLY'S KISS (R Fourie), KITTEN TATTOO (MK Katjedi) and THROW A PARTY (*N Nastili), Trainers DG Smith, AC Greeff, JP Nel and E Kaknis will be advised to have these fillies re-schooled prior to their next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. i) MIDNIGHT MUSIC, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
