Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	THE ROARING ROCK (R Fourie) was nervous in the stalls and slow into stride.
b)	HOSPICES DE BEAUNE (*N Nastili), LUCKY SPIRIT (W Agrella) and TEEREX (M Yeni) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (16h03)
b)	Permission was granted for WAR LAUNCH (MK Katjedi) & LUCKY SPIRIT (W Agrella) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start. 
c)	Shortly after the start, TEEREX (M Yeni) and LUCKY SPIRIT (W Agrella) were buffeted between WAR LAUNCH (MK Katjedi) and WORDSWORTH (M van Rensburg), which jumped outwards. 
d)	RAVILIOUS (*B Soodoo) and THE ROARING ROCK (R Fourie) came together and bumped shortly after the start. 
e)	At approximately the 1100m THE ROARING ROCK (R Fourie) had to be steadied momentarily off the heels of HOUSE OF SUSSEX (K Minnie), which raced awkwardly with its head up and shifted inwards.
f)	Leaving the 150m HOSPICES DE BEAUNE (*N Nastili) had to steady off the heels of NOTORIX (E Webber), which shifted outwards continually from approximately the 250m.
	Jockey E Webber appeared before the Board and was advised to straighten his mounts sooner when they are shifting ground in future.
g)	MUNCHKIN (*G Dookhit) had to steady off the heels of RAVILIOUS (*B Soodoo), which shifted inwards at approximately the 150m.
	Apprentice B Soodoo appeared before the Board and was advised to straighten his mounts sooner when they are shifting ground in future.
h) 	In view of the performance of LUCKY SPIRIT (W Agrella), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 
i)	Jockey R Fourie approached the Board and expressed his concerns with regard to incidents in the early part of the race. He stated that these incidents had affected his placing of his mount in the race which ultimately affected his finishing position. Furthermore, Jockey R Fourie stated that it was this colt's second run on the poly and, in his opinion, he did not enjoy the surface. He further advised that he has recommended to Trainer Greeff that this colt be gelded.
	Trainer AC Greeff was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this colt on his return to the stables.
j)	RAVILIOUS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JVA Strydom was advised. (LM)
