THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SHEEZAROCKET (R A Venniker) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) Shortly after the start SKIPPER O'MALLEY (C Habib) clipped the heels of HURRICANE FLIGHT (C Little) and stumbled when awkwardly placed on the outside of CALL ME HARRIET (*D D Louw) which rolled out marginally and on the heels of HURRICANE FLIGHT (C Little) which jumped in leaving the starting stalls. Apprentice D D Louw and Jockey C Little appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and were advised to take the necessary measures to correct their mounts when they shift ground in races in future. b) In the concluding stages SHEEZAROCKET (R A Venniker) rolled out away from the heels of INTRO (P Mxoli) which hung in throughout. c) In view of the performance of REIK NA DIE STERRE (K Matsunyane) (15.15 lengths, 100/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) FINE WINE (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
