THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROYAL CLINTON (D Ashby) jumped outwards. b) MERCENARY (JP van der Merwe) and CAESAR'S RANSOM (C Orffer) jumped slow, losing one length. c) MAKAJIMA (O Noach) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After being slow to begin, CAESAR'S RANSOM (C Orffer) was steadied off the heels of SKY PILOT (*S Bungane) and then was taken in behind runners from its outside draw. b) After being slow to begin, MAKAJIMA (O Noach) was taken in behind runners from its outside draw. c) Leaving the 200m ROYAL CLINTON (D Ashby) was carried out by CAESAR'S RANSOM (C Orffer), which shifted out away from the crop and was immediately straightened. d) SKY PILOT (*S Bungane) and BONELLI (G Wright) brushed in the latter stages. e) SUGAR DADDY (C Murray) was steadied when awkwardly placed between the heels of MADRA RUA (IRE) and NAVASEVEN (*N Yuen) at the finish. f) NAVASEVEN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
