THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DARK SILVER (C Habib) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) DOUGLAS DRAGON (J Penny) and THE PLAYBOY BOMBER (*S Valjalo) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) IMPACT INVESTOR (G Lerena) raced prominently throughout and tired in the concluding stages. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) At approximately the 400m, T Mayhew, the rider of SALUTE THE FLAG, briefly got his crop entangled in his reins. c) Leaving the 400m, PLAYER (R A Venniker) was bumped out by THE PLAYBOY BOMBER (*S Valjalo), which was directed outwards away from the heels of ONE MORE STAR (C Zackey). d) In view of the performance of SALUTE THE FLAG (*T Mayhew), (distance 10,20 lengths, betting 50/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) In view of the performance of ONE MORE STAR (C Zackey), (distance 11,90 lengths, betting 50/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Jockey S Veale reported that BUDDY BOY took no interest in running.
