Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FROM THE GET GO (L Mxothwa) and THE BIG BANG (D Ashby) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The start of this race was delayed due to an issue with the vehicle that is used to transport the Handlers to the start. b) After leaving the parade ring correctly shod, WAVE OF GLORY (G Behr) cast its left front shoe, which had to be replaced, causing a further delay. c) At the 50m LOVING PRAGUE (IRE) rolled out and brushed UMZINGELI WENYATHI (*S Bungane). Jockey A Domeyer called for a race review with regard to this incident and after viewing the patrol film, took no further action. d) Jockeys M Yeni (LOOK AHEAD) and R Fourie (SLASH 'N BURN) reported that their respective mounts made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Jockey D Ashby reported that THE BIG BANG did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) In view of the debut performance of FROM THE GET GO (L Mxothwa), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. g) Jockey L Mxothwa was charged with a contravention of Rule 66.4 (read with Guideline 1 on overweight) in that he, as the rider of FROM THE GET GO, weighed back in at 60.1kgs, 1.1kg in excess of the weight at which he was declared out (59.0kgs). Jockey L Mxothwa signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R2 500.00. h) UMZINGELI WENYATHI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Binda was advised.
