THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 300m EDUCATOR (C Zackey) was brushed outwards by HUNGA TONGA (G van Niekerk) when HUNGA TONGA (G van Niekerk) shifted out while attempting to secure clear running between SUPREME FATE M Yeni and SPIRIT OF LEVANA (C Little), which did not materialise. As a consequence, Jockey G van Niekerk was obliged to stop riding briefly and directed HUNGA TONGA inwards. Shortly thereafter, EDUCATOR (C Zackey) was held up for a number of strides behind SPIRIT OF LEVANA (C Little) and had to be directed outwards. Jockey G van Niekerk appeared before the Board and was advised to take more care in similar circumstances. b) In view of the performance of VIVA LA VIDA (S Veale), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) REET PETITE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
