THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SASCHA'S DREAM (R A Venniker) and ARCTIC FURY (A Mgudlwa) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) Shortly after the start LA MADDALENA (N Patel) was bumped by SAFARI LODGE (C Habib) which was carried out by ALANNAH (M Yeni) which jumped outwards leaving the starting stalls. b) SIGN OF FATE (T Godden) commenced to over-race on the early part of the turn. c) Jockey T Godden reported that SIGN OF FATE (T Godden) made an abnormal respiratory noise in the pull up area. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey C Habib reported that he felt something amiss with SAFARI LODGE in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) ALANNAH (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P V Lafferty was advised (SP).
