Stipes Report
En route to the start RUN FOREST RUN (C Murray) cast the right-front shoe which was replaced by the course farrier at the start. This gelding was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to race. Simultaneously, the tongue tie on FAIRE ADVANTAGE (*E J Muller) was replaced. This caused a delay to the start of the race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) IMPERIAL POWER (*D Pillay) was slow into stride. b) ISIKWISHIKWISHI (R A Venniker) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) : a) Leaving the 300m IMPERIAL POWER (*D Pillay) was brushed by RUN FOREST RUN (C Murray) which rolled out in anticipation of being awkwardly placed on the heels of ISIKWISHIKWISHI (R A Venniker) which was directed to the outside of KING'S ISLAND (*D D Louw) to continue its run. Thereafter RUN FOREST RUN (C Murray) was bumped in by IMPERIAL POWER (*D Pillay) which was carried in by KUMEMORI (S Hlengwa) which commenced to hang in, rolled in and was immediately corrected. b) Jockey T Godden reported that KIMBALL O'HARA made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Jockey C Habib reported that he felt something amiss with PARMENION en route to returning to the unsaddling area and as a result dismounted this gelding and assisted it. This precluded Jockey C Habib from weighing back in timeously and in terms of Rule 66.2 the Board deemed his weight to be correct. d) Apprentice E J Muller (FAIRE ADVANTAGE) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. e) IMPERIAL POWER (*D Pillay), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G B Puller was advised (SP). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) PARMENION : Post-race distress. b) KIMBALL O'HARA : Nothing obvious detected.
