THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE. THE STARTER HAD NO REPORTS. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After receiving medical attention, Jockey M van Rensburg, who was struck in the face by BATTLE OFTHE BULGE en route to the start in Race 4, was passed fit to fulfil the remainder of his riding engagements. b) MISS HANNIGAN (*G Samo-Burthia) was encouraged forward from the start, thereafter, at approximately the 1300m, was steadied when awkwardly placed on the inside of THAT'S MY BABY (C Zackey), which rolled in. Thereafter, this mare commenced to over-race in the middle stages. c) FAMOUS LADY (C Habib) tired in the concluding stages. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) In view of the performance of WILLY MEET AGAIN (M van Rensburg), (distance 7, 20 lengths, betting 25/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Apprentice S Valjalo reported that JUNIPER GREEN was blowing post race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) MINOGUE (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Dawson advised (MS). Race 5 contd. JOCKEY CHANGES: a) THAT'S MY BABY: Jockey C Zackey weighed out at 54,7kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight as declared. b) JUNIPER GREEN: Apprentice S Valjalo weighed out at 50kg, only claiming 2kg of her 4kg apprentice allowance as declared.
