Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	BOSNAY (*N Nastili) was stubborn loading.
b)	JET LAVISH (*B Soodoo) jumped awkwardly with its head up leaving the stalls.
c)	GREEN ISLE (X Ndlovu) fly-jumped awkwardly with its head up leaving the stalls.
d)	FLOWER FESTIVAL (L Mxothwa) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h32)
b)	Permission was granted for UMZOLOZOLO (M van Rensburg) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start.
c)	BOSNAY (*N Nastili) was bumped outwards by LADY BOMBER (MK Katjedi), which was carried outwards by UMZOLOZOLO (M van Rensburg), which was in turn carried outwards by GREEN ISLE (X Ndlovu), which was carried out and squeezed by KAMAKAZI (C Little), which jumped out sharply shortly after the start. In this incident, the hindquarters of BOSNAY (*N Nastili) were turned. 
	Jockey C Little appeared before the Board and was advised that this was the second occasion in which he had allowed his mount to jump outwards shortly after the start, without sufficient correction. He was advised to react sooner when his mounts are shifting ground. 
d)	KAMAKAZI (C Little) over raced in the early and middle stages. 
e)	LADY BOMBER (MK Katjedi) was hanging out from the 300m.
f)	JET LAVISH (*B Soodoo) was hanging out and shifted out away from the crop at the 250m.
g)	Jockey X Ndlovu appeared before the Board and was questioned with regard to the manner in which GREEN ISLE was ridden in the race. He explained that due to the incident at the start, this mare was unable to obtain a handy position and had dropped the bit early. He had attempted to encourage her forward in the early stages but she had failed to show any interest. His explanation was noted.
Trainer AC Greeff was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this mare on her return to the stables. 
h)	JET LAVISH, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised. (LM)
